Impact Gold - 2013 Christmas For Kids

Christmas is a wonderful time of the year to spread a little love to someone else in need. Impact Gold recently participated in our third annual “Christmas For Kids” toy drive at the local hospitals and children’s centers here in the Golden Triangle and Southwest Louisiana. All of our players and parents within the organization contributed personal monies to purchase numerous toys. We bought over $4,000 worth of goodies to hand out to sick and less fortunate children during the Christmas break. We were able to visit St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Baptist Hospital, The Medical Center, Buckner Place, Girl's Haven, Boy's Haven, Salvation Army-Beaumont, Salvation Army-Orange, and the Women's Shelter. The toys ranged from warm blankets, to teddy bears, board games, athletic equipment, and numerous other items for boys and girls from toddlers to teens. So many wonderful Blessings come to us throughout the year and this is just a small way for us to give something back to others in need of a little extra support. Our message was simply to try and comfort their situation as much as we could, and help inspire them to battle through their tough times. If nothing else, we wanted them to know that someone else out there was thinking about them, even though none of us had ever met before. Merry Christmas and may God Bless you all from the Impact Gold family!

GT Shockers Participates in Annual Don Allen Wildwood Sports Day

Recently, before GT Shockers merged with Impact Gold, our proud Shocker family spent a wonderful day at Wildwood to participate in the 2013 Don Allen Wildwood Sports Day event that is held annually for physically challenged individuals of all ages. Each participant is given the opportunity to participate in all sorts of sporting events like kayaking, jet skiing, horse riding, softball, paintball, hand cycling, fishing, and much more. Our 12U-02 team volunteered last year at this event and took part in the annual softball game. It was a very humbling experience for the girls to bring smiles to all those faces that day. Our girls played the outfield while the participants hit the ball and ran the bases. Each participant was rewarded with a medal after they crossed home plate. GT Shockers sends a big thank you to Wildwood Sports Day for allowing us to participate in this event, our girls had lots of fun!! The next Don Allen Wildwood Sports Day event is scheduled for May 17th again at Wildwood.
